El Rancho de las Golondrinas Civil War Weekend

150th Anniversary —2012

 

May 03th through May 06th, 2012. 150th

. The 150th anniversary re enactment of the battles of Glorietta and Apache Canyon will be at El Rancho de las Golondrinas Living History Museum.  Near Santa Fe New Mexico.

This will be a 4 day event with set upstarting on the 3rd. There are going be be many great things this event. I will keep you posted as things get firmed.

There will be a registration fee of $ 10 and a registration dead line. The $10 is to help with a dinner,band and the usual aminities.There will be a Friday night dinner. We need to know how many to plan for.

Friday night the 4th. There will be a ball for re enactors only, with the NM Territorial Brass band.  There will be no Alcohol at the ball.

There will be a Tin type photographer at the ball.

you must be pre regestered to attend the dinner and ball
Straw, water, johns and some hay will be provided along with wood if fires are permitted

CSA commander will be Kevin Hall
Thursday afternoon and Friday morning will include etiquette classes on dinning and balls.
Saturday night the 5th, there will be a candle light tour. There will be drinks and cookies at the starting place.
There will be history lectures ,period medical history and a fashion show.

 

 

Please Read Carefully

  1. All vehicles must be removed to the designated museum parking areas no later than 8am Saturday, and no vehicles will be allowed to reenter the living history museum display areas, including reenacting camps before 4pm Sunday.
  2. It is mandatory that once participants are in the period camps, they will remain in period attire (this includes children).
  3. All mounted troops are restricted to military camps established roads and the main battlefield, this restriction also applies to all horses, burrows and draught animals.
  4. A candle lantern tour will be presented by the re enactors for the public between 7:45pm and 10:00pm on Saturday Evening. Reenacting units are requested to participate, coordinating scenarios with the NMCWCC leadership.
  5. Gift certificate drawings will be held on Sunday at the conclusion of the that day's battle demonstration. You must be present to win.
  6. No weapons will be fired before 8:00 AM or after 7:00 pm without approval of Congress and the museum.
